Booch privacy policy

This policy covers the Booch mobile app, published by Studio 49 LLC, a California limited liability company.

The brewing coach
When you ask the coach a question, your message is sent to Anthropic, along with context about the batch you are asking about — its name, status and dates, and the brewing and tasting notes you have written on it. Your email address and your name are not sent.
Anthropic processes the message to produce a reply. Your conversations are kept in your account so you can return to them, and they are deleted when you delete your account.
Recipes you choose to publish
Booch lets you mark a recipe as public. A public recipe is readable by anyone — including people who do not have a Booch account — and that includes its name, its notes and its instructions.
Nothing else about you is published with it. Not your email address, not your name, not your batches, not your other recipes. Recipes are private unless you turn this on, and you can turn it off again.
What is stored on your phone
Booch keeps a copy of what it has recently loaded on your device, so the app is quick and keeps working when you are offline. That copy includes your brewing records and your coach conversations. It is protected by the protections your phone applies to app data, but it is not separately encrypted by Booch.
On Android, if you have device backup switched on, that copy is included in your Google backup. Your sign-in tokens are held separately, in the device keychain.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from Settings in the app.
Everything attached to it goes with it — batches, cultures, readings, notes, tasting entries, coach conversations and any photos you uploaded, including the image files themselves. It happens in one operation, it is immediate, and it cannot be undone. There is no archived copy kept afterwards.
How long we keep things
Until you delete them. Nothing expires on a schedule and nothing is removed on your behalf — your brewing history stays as long as your account does, which is the point of keeping it.

Children
Booch is not directed to children under 13, and Studio 49 does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
